WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD / ONE-STOP SYSTEM

The Workforce Investment Board (WIB), along with the County Executive, is a policy-making body on workforce development and is mandated by the Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA). Represented by a diverse group of stakeholders in the private and public sector, the board is responsible for developing strategies and policies to form a seamless, coordinated One-Stop System for an array of educational, employment and training programs that will meet the current and future demands of Essex County employers.

The One-Stop System consists of critical workforce elements, including the Division of Training and Employment, Workforce Investment Board (WIB), the Department of Citizen Services, community-based literacy providers and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to form the One-Stop Career Center located at 50 South Clinton Street, East Orange, New Jersey.
