ESSEX COUNTY EXECUTIVE DIVINCENZO INVITES PUBLIC TO ENJOY FREE FRIDAY NIGHT FLICKS IN JUNE AT ESSEX COUNTY KIP'S CASTLE PARK
Film Series includes “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Singin' in the Rain,” “Enchanted” and Casablanca”
Verona, NJ – Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. invites the public to spend an evening at Essex County Kip's Castle Park watching movies under the stars. The Essex County Free Friday Flicks film series will be held every Friday evening in June. Admission is free and the diverse line-up of movies includes children's favorites and features that adults will enjoy. The shows are co-sponsored by the Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and the Kip's Castle Conservancy. They will be held as follows:

“We invite you to join us on Friday nights in June for an exciting evening movie series on our Kip's Castle Park lawn. Families will enjoy the outdoor movie presentation and experience this magnificent location in a new way,” DiVincenzo said. “We look forward to seeing you at what will be an entertaining night under the stars for children, families and individuals of all ages,” he added.

Friday, June 7th: “How to Train Your Dragon,” Rated PG
Set in the mythical world of burly Vikings and wild dragons, this animated action comedy tells the story of Hiccup, a Viking teenager who doesn't exactly fit in with his tribe's longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. Rain date: Saturday, June 8th.
Friday, June 14th: “Singin' In The Rain,” Not Rated
Betty Comden and Adolph Green wrote this wonderful film about the time when movies were changing from silent to talkies. The songs range from the hilarious "Make 'Em Laugh" performed by O'Connor, to the delicate "You Were Meant for Me" and the show-stopping classic "Singin' in the Rain" solo by Gene Kelly. Rain date: Saturday, June 15th.
Friday, June 21st: “Enchanted,” Rated PG
A classic Disney fairytale lands in modern-day New York City when a storybook princess is thrust into present day Manhattan by an evil queen. Rain date: Saturday, June 22nd.
Friday, June 28th: “Casablanca,” Not Rated
Wartime refugees gather in Morocco to obtain scarce exit visas to Lisbon. The final airport sequence is an event not to be forgotten. Rain Date: Saturday, June 29th.
The Essex County Park System was created in 1895 and is the first county park system established in the United States. The Park System consists of more than 6,000 acres and has 22 parks, five reservations, an environmental center, a zoo, Treetop Adventure Course, ice skating rink, roller skating rink, three public golf courses, golf driving range, two miniature golf courses, Treetop Adventure Course, three off-leash dog facilities, a castle and the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens. The 11-acre Essex County Kip's Castle Park was preserved by the County and added to the historic park system in 2007.
