butterfly Tent Safari
The Essex County Environmental Center proudly presents The Butterfly Tent Safari! From Sunday, July 12 through Saturday, July 26 visitors are welcome Monday through Friday from 12pm to 3pm to enjoy the amazing collection of butterflies. Special events also take place on the Saturdays throughout the three-week long event, including family themed programs, insect education, gardening workshops, and more! Family Fun Nights
Turtle Back Zoo extends its hours this summer to 8:30pm on Wednesdays, July 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30
General Public Session: Thursday, July 17
Gates open from 7:30pm to 8:30pm
Come see the zoo in a different light! Learn all about what animals do at night on this unique guided tour. Don't forget your flashlight! (This tour is not recommended for children under 5.) Average tour time: 1 hour. Admission is $7.00 per person. Pre-Registration required (there will be no registrations allowed the night of the event.) Groups over 15 people should call the zoo office at 973-731-5800 x223 to schedule Night Moves tours. Registration is non-refundable.
