ESSEX COUNTY EXECUTIVE DIVINCENZO AND
ESSEX COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
UNVEIL NEW MULTI-MEDIA MARKETING EXHIBIT
Vibrant Display and Video showcases County’s tourist attractions, arts and cultural venues,
and “it” destinations to experience
Newark, NJ - Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. and the Essex County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) unveiled a new, multi-media marketing exhibit at the 89th New Jersey State League of Municipalities Convention held November 16th to 19th at the Atlantic City Convention Center. The theme of the multi-media marketing campaign is “It’s a Beautiful Day to Experience Essex.”
With its vibrant green, purple, blue and gold hues, the 8-by-10 foot custom designed multi-media exhibit contains an array of photographs, including the County’s historic Lincoln statue. The display drew hundreds of visitors who stopped by the County’s exhibition booth to catch a glimpse of this new portable marketing exhibit. They also picked up copies of the County’s colorful new brochures, highlighting a host of “it” tourist sights to sample while visiting the County’s urban hubs and suburban enclaves.
As part of the Economic Development Corporation’s savvy marketing presentation, a new three-minute video features the County Executive welcoming visitors to experience one of Essex’s many fascinating attractions, including galleries, restaurants, parks and sports venues. “We’re excited about showcasing the sights, sounds and flavors of our great County,” DiVincenzo said, explaining the marketing campaign is just one of the new economic development initiatives implemented by the Essex County Economic Development Corporation to promote Essex County as a business and tourist destination. “This showcase will help us promote Essex County and bring information about County government to the people,” he added.
“The New Jersey State League of Municipalities Convention provided our County government with a unique opportunity to explore public and private partnerships, strengthen our intergovernmental relations and promote economic development programs and services,” DiVincenzo said.
During this year’s convention, DiVincenzo joined Balozi Harvey, Executive Director of the Essex County Economic Development Corporation, and greeted visitors stopping by the new multi-media exhibit to peruse the new brochures and watch the new promotional video. They also received a host of promotional giveaways, including “Putting Essex County First” pens, T-shirts and water bottles.
“The League created an environment for government to reach out to the private sector to explore joint business partnerships, while promoting our services and County venues,” Harvey said. “Our goal is to spread the word that It’s a Beautiful Day to Experience Essex and to promote business with our County,” he added.
“The response we received was great,” said Joyce Wilson-Harley, Esq., a member of the EDC’s board of trustees. “People were impressed by our new display. It’s bright and informative,” she added.
Established as a nonprofit corporation in 1984, the EDC offers financial and technical assistance to help create and expand existing businesses, and assists with developing employment opportunities.
